Admission of a young person into the Specialised Education and Home Care Service (Service d’éducation spécial et de soins à domicile, or S.E.S.S.A.D) within a Therapeutic, Educational and Pedagogic Institute (Institut thérapeutique, éducatif et pédagogique, or I.T.E.P.) is decided by the director, after parental agreement and the decision by the the Regional Authority for Disabled Persons (la Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées, or M.D.P.H).This support is financed through social security.
Specialised Education and Home Care Service (Service d’éducation spécial et de soins à domicile, or S.E.S.S.A.D) interventions take place in all the relevant places in the daily life of a young person : in the family home, at school, in social meeting places… and also within the service’s own premises.
It is also helps families that need to be supported and accompanied for a short time in their parenting.The work of the Specialised Education and Home Care Service (Service d’éducation spécial et de soins à domicile, or S.E.S.S.A.D) is based on the orientations of the young person’s individualised support plan and takes his or her difficulties into account, with the collaboration of the young person and their parents, as well as close collaboration with the school, college, associations, employers and other professionals in the medical/education sector. The service aims to help with social integration, education, and care for young people displaying behavioral issues and difficulties adapting to social and school life.
