woippy-metz / Childrens Home
The « Maison Viotti » is a children’s home in Petite-Rosselle, a town on the German border, in the heart of the Moselle coalfield.

It is authorised by the Moselle Department child protection and welfare service (Protection de l’Enfance par l’Aide Sociale à l’Enfance, or ASE) and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The centre accommodates 20 boys and girls aged between 6 and 13 years, most of whom come from the Forbach, Saint Avold and Sarreguemines areas.
The children are referred to the Viotti children’s home by the child welfare service (ASE). They are accompanied by a multidisciplinary team, in collaboration with the ASE, who work, according to the conditions of the prescribed stay and the public service contract, alongside the children’s legal guardians, within the framework of an agreed plan for each child.
This team of professionals, works in close partnership with the schools and colleges in the area, the town hall, the sports clubs and the Petite Rosselle health professionals, in order to ensure that each child accommodated can thrive and flourish.
The fundamental overall priority is to allow the children to overcome their present difficulties - difficulties which often generate feelings of loneliness and introspection – within a structured and therefore reassuring and secure environment.
The home is a warm and welcoming place, where the children can settle and find respite, so that they can generate positive memories within a group, which will enable them to look back on this difficult time in their life, as being more than just a rupture with their familiar environment.
The Viotti children’s home therefore represents a stage in the life of these children ; a stage which should be as constructive as possible, both in terms of their daily care, as well as in terms of the work carried out with the families alongside the child welfare service.
